13/01/2011 - THE CHINESE MARKET WANTS PAL's INNOVATIONS
Since 1978 PAL, a north-east Italian Company, has been fabricating innovative machinery for the production of wood based panels and has become world leader in the field.
A wide range of products combined today with the possibility of supplying complete press lines as well, enables PAL, to remain a forerunner of the times, supplying complete "turn-key" plants for the production of excellent quality particleboards, MDF, OSB and Insulation Board.
Thanks to ongoing investments in the field of Research & Development and to the recent installation of new and modern plants throughout the world, we are able to offer solutions for cutting costs in terms of investment and maintenance, which are becoming more and more important for our customers (called by PAL's team "partners").
The R&D department, in the extensive dedicated facility, comprising a team of highly-experienced technicians with great inventive capacity, is constantly at work developing innovations for both existing projects and future designs, in order to improve performance, reduce plant running costs, reduce maintenance by employing special materials, optimise plant layout with a view to obtaining maximum yield at minimum cost and optimise production processes.
Very important for the world market are the new and innovative forming and pressing lines supplied by PAL: the DYNAFORMER concept forming system is revolutionary which (as the name "DYNA" suggests) is very dynamic and easily adjustable in order to accommodate a wide range of customer board products.
The new results in MDF preparation are aimed at reducing installed power, reducing conveyor use, decreasing maintenance costs, decreasing fiber reject, reducing the amount of steel-structure and walk-ways, diminishing compressed air consumption and absolutely no water consumption.
Every new system developed by PAL last year, is aimed at decreasing costs:
1. New gluing technologies for PB that will achieve glue savings of up to 20%;
2. New gluing technologies for MDF, that will achieve glue savings of around 25-30% and more;
3. New and revolutionary gluing technologies for OSB that will widely reduce maintenance times and allow glue savings by improving the technological properties of the panel;
4. New cleaning systems that will allow absorbed energy consumption to be reduced by up to 4-6 kWh/ton;
5. A revolutionary metal removal system to reduce investment and maintenance costs, which reduces the installation footprint and widens the separation efficiency to all types of metals.
The technological cycle developed and fine-tuned by PAL starts from the receipt of the wooden raw materials and - through loading, grinding, refining and storing systems (employing different loading and extracting solutions), removal of pollutants of all kinds and shapes, classification with roll & oscillating screens, de-sanding, metering and gluing - prepares the wooden particles in well separated layers ready for the pressing process which will yield high-quality PB, MDF and OSB panels.
We have already supplied many new Dry Cleaning systems in China (at present we have 269 systems running worldwide), they are well appreciated due to the country's strict environmental regulations with low investment and running costs.
At present the company can count on a range of more than 4400 machines operating worldwide. Six complete preparation plants (without press line) and three re-conditioned complete lines were sold last year. Thanks to the latest installations in Australia, China, South America and Russia, PAL can continue offering customers the innovation they are looking for.
